The Ultimate Guide to Sydney Airport Car Hire
Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport is the most important transport hub in Australia. Whether you’re flying in or out of the country, it’s a good idea to have a vehicle at your disposal. While Sydney has an excellent public transportation system, there are times when renting a car is your best option. The following guide will help you make the most of your trip and get where you need to go with ease!
How to make the most of your Sydney Airport car hire
Sydney Airport is the largest airport in Australia, and it’s also one of the busiest. With that comes a lot of people, traffic and confusion.
If you’ve never been to Sydney Airport before or if this is your first time renting a car from there, here are some tips on how to get around:
- The best way to get from Sydney Airport into town is by train. You can catch an express train called T2 Trainspotters that runs every 15 minutes between T2 Domestic Terminal and Central Station (near Circular Quay). This service costs $16 per person each way on weekends and $22 during weekday peak times but can save quite a bit of money compared with taking a taxi into town ($60-$100). It takes around 20 minutes depending on how long it takes for passengers entering T2 Domestic Terminal after customs has opened; this varies depending on how many flights have landed during peak hours
The best way to get to and from Sydney Airport
- Public transport. If you’re looking for a budget option, the best way to get from Sydney Airport is by public transport. The airport is located near several train stations and buses run frequently between them and the city center. The Airtrain also links the domestic terminal with the international one, so if your hotel or Airbnb isn’t too far away from either one then this may be worth considering as well!
- Taxi/rideshare services (UberX & Lyft). Taxis are another popular option since they’re easy to hail when you arrive at Sydney Airport (just look for a taxi stand), but they can also be expensive if there’s just one person in your party since drivers generally charge per person rather than per car or vehicle like UberX and Lyft do–so make sure that everyone knows how much money he’ll owe before getting into any vehicle!
- Renting a car at Sydney Airport – This is probably our favorite way of getting around town because it gives us total freedom over where we go next; however there are several things worth noting about renting cars here: firstly make sure that all necessary documents have been completed beforehand (travel insurance forms etc.) so there aren’t any surprises later down south; secondly choose wisely
